If you think you deserve more, you probably do.
If you think the world is out to get you, it probably is.
If you think your life sucks, it probably does.
But, think about this.
What if the only thing in the world holding you back from achieving greatness is in fact you?
It’s all about perspective.
If you think the world is out to get you, it’s because you have a shit attitude towards life – you’re looking at everything the wrong way. You’re allowing your energy to be fueled by the negatives, rather than reflecting on — and be thankful for — the positives. By allowing the negatives to control your mind, you’re allowing them control of your life. The bad things are winning because YOU’RE allowing them to.
Do you hate your desk job? A lot of people do, but rather than complaining about how boring it is, why don’t you search for something more fulfilling?
You will never amount to any form of greatness if you spend your life working a job that drains your energy and passion.
You will never travel the world to scuba dive in Hawaii if you keep making excuses for why you can’t go. Do you envy your friends that spend weeks out of the year travelling abroad? Rather than concerning yourself with what they’re doing, focus your energy on what YOU want to do. Save your money. Buy the plane ticket, and go.
Allow the world to shape you and open your eyes. Struggle with language barriers and get lost. Let it challenge you and frustrate the hell out of you. Surrender your need to be in control.
Crash diets aren’t sustainable long term. You will never lose weight if you don’t change your eating habits. You will never improve your health if you don’t eat more vegetables and exercise.
You’re not going to wake up smarter without reading and being willing to learn from others. Broaden your horizons. Pick up a book. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Your brain isn’t either.
Quit surrounding yourself with people that drain you. You will never reach true happiness in your own life if you’re constantly feeding your energy to others.
How’re your personal relationships? Do you find yourself constantly criticizing others rather than focusing on your own personal development? YOU are the reason your relationships are suffering. Passing judgment on how others live their life does not improve the quality of yours. Take a good look in the mirror. Do you like you?
Are you constantly at odds with the “enemy.” Is there someone always trying to keep you down? You’re right, there is. And it’s YOU.
You are your own worst enemy; you are the only one who is standing in the way of your goals and your success.
Life doesn’t owe you or anyone else anything, so don’t expect it to. Half-assing your way through an “8 Minute Ab Video” isn’t going to give you the rocking summer bod you “so badly want” — put in the work.
If you want something you have to work hard for it. You make sacrifices and push through even when things get messy and complicated. You need to keep going when everything in you is telling you to give up because greatness never comes from half-assing it.
Don’t stand in the way of greatness, don’t give up when things get hard. Instead work harder. Work smarter. Work when no one is watching. That’s the mark of a person destined for greatness.
Believe in yourself when no one else does. You’re the only person that’ll be with you through every moment of your journey. Remember that. The only person you need to hold yourself accountable to is YOU.
No one will believe in you until you believe in yourself. Others can want your dreams for you, but you’re the only one who can make them happen.
Stop doing things that don’t fulfil you, stop blaming others for your problems and stop thinking life owes you something. If you want to improve your life, start living like it. Take steps in the right direction, then keep going. You won’t regret that you did.
