Many people wake up at the same time every night without paying much attention to the underlying meaning behind it. But, digging a little deeper just might reveal that this is how the body signals that a Higher Power is communicating with you.

Traditional Chinese medicine uses energy meridians for acupuncture and acupressure. These energy meridians are connected to a clock system that, according to ancient Chines medicine, energizes different parts of the body. Thus lending well to the suggestion that dependent on the time you wake up at night, your body could be telling you it’s experiencing certain physical and emotional sensations that are emotional problems that need your attention.

Waking up between 11 p.m. – 1 a.m. could be a sign of deep-rooted emotional disappointment.

Ancient Chinese medicine says that this is the time when the gallbladder is most active. Regular waking up at these hours could signify emotional disappointment. Positive mantras and practicing self-forgiveness should help resolve the problem.

This energy meridian is connected with the liver, and waking up at this time is said to be associated with anger and excess yang energy. To get some peaceful sleep, try drinking a glass of cold water and practicing meditation.

Waking up between 3 – 5 a.m. is perhaps the most meaningful as it could be an indication that a Higher Power is reaching out to you.

This timeframe is related to the lungs as well and sadness and emotions. Waking up around this time regularly could be a sign that a Higher Power is attempting to guide you toward your higher purpose. Try slow breathing exercises and prayer to drift peacefully back to sleep.

Waking up between 5 to 7 a.m. is associated with emotional blockages.

In this cycle of sleep, the energy flow is in the large intestine and could signify emotional blockages. If you’d like to go back to sleep, try stretching or using the restroom.

The body is indeed fascinating in its ability to send alerts when there are underlying issues to be addressed. Opening your conscience and listening to what it’s trying to tell you might help improve both the physical and spiritual aspects of your life.
