Menopause is a natural period that every woman goes through in life.
And those that have been through it can attest to that it’s unpredictable, and often times, not pretty.
During this period the reproductive and menstrual functions die out. The onset of this stage is different in every woman, though typically starts after 45 years old. However, the anxiety surrounding menopause often starts long before.
Here are 8 things that can happen to the female body with the onset of menopause.
1. Heightened Emotions
Hormonal changes cause non-standard reactions resulting in bursting into tears over….almost anything.
2. Weight Gain
Perhaps this is the result of new food cravings, or just a slowed metabolism, but at any rate….be prepared to put on a few pounds.
3. Unpredictable Mood Swings
It’s either you fall into depression, or suddenly you start to shout and flare up on trifles. This condition is similar to the one which occurs in the human body during teenage years.
4. Trouble Sleeping
Almost all women face this symptom. It’s possible to cope with sleep disturbances and insomnia taking some sedatives.
5. Facial Hair
During menopause, some women start to grow hair in places they previously hadn’t. Case in point, on their chin.
6. Increased Perspiration
During the day you feel hot flashes and start to sweat. Sometimes it gets so hot that you’re ready to hide in a fridge.
7. Fatigue
Hormonal alteration of the body is reflected in constant and fast fatigue.
8. Increased Puffiness
If you liked your little ankles, then it’s time to say goodbye to them. From now on your legs will not look so elegant. To reduce the puffiness, drink less in the evening.
It’s possible that all of the above symptoms of menopause may not start at once. Every woman is individual. But if you do not cope with them on your own, be sure to seek medical help if your symptoms leave you unable to live a normal life. Otherwise, buckle up, you’re in for an unpredictable ride!
