Introduction
What is Apple Cider Vinegar
Why is apple cider vinegar so good for weight loss?
Apple cider vinegar offers a number of benefits for weight loss. One of these is the gut bacteria it contains, which studies show can help people lose weight by improving their body’s ability to break down and absorb calories. Similarly, apple cider vinegar is known to suppress appetite because it contains acetic acid, which is the same thing found in vinegar that makes your mouth water when you eat fries. This may not be true for every person, but for some this acid has been shown to slow stomach emptying and increase feelings of fullness following a meal. One other benefit of apple cider vinegar is its ability to fight off cravings by balancing blood sugar levels due to its beneficial components like malic acid and calcium. The fermentation process also produces “good” bacteria that can help to fight off the “bad” gut microorganisms that can trigger sugar cravings. As a result, it’s important to look for a high-quality brand that is unfiltered and unpasteurized with the mother (the cloudy substance) still intact. Having an abundance of good gut bacteria has also been scientifically proven to stop fat from being absorbed in your body. This is because the bacteria have an enzyme that breaks down the chain of fatty acids, which helps to prevent them from penetrating and storing themselves as fat when digested.
Using apple cider vinegar for weight loss
If you’re new to apple cider vinegar or just want a simple rule for how much to use, try starting with just 1-2 teaspoons per day. If you’re already using it for the health benefits of probiotics and other stuff it offers, then just add in a couple of extra tablespoons on top of that. You can add apple cider vinegar to a glass of water with some lemon or lime juice, or mix it into your favorite veggie/fruit juice. If you’re making a larger batch for later use, be sure not to dilute it too much, but make sure to properly store your ACV in a dark cupboard (not glass) and use it within 1 month. You can also add apple cider vinegar into food, like stir-fry veggies or meat for example. The flavor is very natural and just enhances the taste of the meal but isn’t overly powerful. Its uses are endless, and you can get creative with it and find some great recipes online!
You should take it in the morning, before breakfast. You’ll want to start by drinking just 1-2 teaspoons to see how your body reacts. When you’re comfortable with this amount, then add an extra teaspoon per day until you reach a point where you feel comfortable. Everyone is different, and as I’ve mentioned, not everyone will want to use it in the same way. Another thing to consider is that apple cider vinegar may not be compatible with certain medications or health conditions (ie: diabetes, etc). So it’s best to check with your doctor if you have any concerns or questions about using apple cider vinegar for weight loss.
